Cash Transactor is for those who make lots of deposits or withdrawals, or who want to be able to pay regular bills, really more like a bank account than a savings account.
You can start Cash Transactor with £100 and your balance can be reduced to zero later. Interest is paid on your savings on 31st March each year.
With Cash Transactor you can also pay your regular bills by direct debit or standing order. These are very simple to set up - just fill in the form provided by the organisation which will be receiving your payment - and we'll take care of the rest.
Deposits can be made over the counter at any of the Society's branch or agency offices, or alternatively at one of our cash machines if you choose the LINK card option.
It is also possible to arrange to have your salary paid direct into your Cash Transactor account, or set up a regular transfer from another account.
If you choose an ATM card you will be able to withdraw up to £250 per day from any cash machine displaying the LINK logo. There are over 40,000 LINK cash point machines in the country. You can of course withdraw money at any of the Society's branches, with instant access to cash up to £1,000 and withdrawals by cheque up to £150,000. Amounts above this may require a few day's notice.
You can also register for our web self serve service and transfer funds to nominated accounts online.
If you choose the LINK card option you can check how much is in your account at any machine displaying the LINK logo. In addition, our own ATMs allow you to order statements or receive mini-statements showing your last five transactions. All transactions will normally appear on your account immediately.
You can also check your balance in branch and online if you register for our web self serve service.
We'll send you a statement at least monthly if you have used your LINK card.
You have the option to manage your account online. For example, you can check your balance, transfer money to another account or view your tax and interest rate details. To take advantage of this facility, you will need to register for online services once you have opened the account. Find out more about what you can do online.

Whether you can benefit from gross, net or tax free interest is dependent on your own personal circumstances and tax status and so may be subject to change in the future.
Interest rates are variable. All rates shown are per annum.
Gross rate p.a.
Interest rate payable before any income tax is deducted. It can only be paid subject to the required registration.
Net rate p.a.
Interest rate payable after the deduction of income tax, at the lower rate of 20%.
AER
AER stands for Annual Equivalent Rate and shows what the interest rate would be if interest was paid and added each year. This will enable you to compare more easily the return you can expect from your savings over time.
This savings account can be operated in various ways but must be opened at a branch or via the post.
Note: When applying for a YBS account you will need to verify your identity and address. Check our Verifying your Identity section for more details of what you may need to take with you.
