Blades Account - key features

The Yorkshire have teamed up with Sheffield United FC to bring you our Blades account. The account gives you the opportunity to help SUFC and earn an attractive rate of interest for yourself. In fact, you're sure to be part of a winning team if you open an account.

Key Features

  • A competitive rate of interest.
  • Two instant access withdrawal days each month.
  • A cash bonus paid by us to the club based on the amount fans save.
  • Minimum opening balance of £100. £1 if you are under 18.
  • Account holders are eligible for special deals offered by SUFC from time to time.
  • Manage your account online.
  1. Opening an account

The minimum opening balance is £100, and you must have at least £25 in your account at all times. Savers aged under 18 can open an account with only £1.

  2. Withdrawing money

With the Blades Account you have two withdrawal days per calendar month to make withdrawals from any of our branches (including a closing withdrawal). No notice is required for cash withdrawals up to £1,000 and cheque withdrawals up to £150,000. Amounts over this may require a few days' notice. If it is more convenient for you to use one of our local Agencies rather than a branch, you can withdraw up to £250 or £500 in cash (depending on the type of Agency) or up to £10,000 by cheque. Again, amounts above this may require a few days' notice.

  3. And United benefits

We give the Club a cash payment equal to 1% of the average balance fans hold in their accounts in the twelve months up to 31 March every year.

  4. Transferring to the Blades Account

If you already have an account with us, you can transfer funds to a Blades Account, subject to the terms applying to that account, and still help earn the Club a cash bonus.

  5. Online services

You have the option to manage your account online. For example, you can check your balance, transfer money to another account or view your tax and interest rate details. To take advantage of this facility, you will need to register for online services once you have opened the account. Find out more about what you can do online.
